straightforward cooking with minimal ingredients. My cooking philosophy is that to make finger licking meal, one does not need fancy and endless ingredients but ample love and pure
heart. Most of my blogs are on Indian vegetarian and
vegan food. However, I do share some delicious non-vegetarian recipes on my
blogs as well. My recipes are absolutely perfect for newbies.

About me
Originally,
I am from Punjab, (North part) India, presently living in South Africa. I moved
to South Africa with my husband almost a decade ago leaving my family, friends
and almost everything behind. That time, I had no idea what life holds for me
as I had never been to any other province in India on my own, and here I
was in a new country, in fact another continent altogether.
It
took me a while to get adjusted to this relatively new lifestyle, new people,
new culture, and new environment.
I cannot thank my husband enough who not only helped me at every step of the way but also encouraged me to follow my dreams in many ways. Next comes my family- my mother, father and loving brother. They always stood beside me during my highs and lows. I am grateful to God from bottom of my heart for giving me such a lovely and caring family. I am nothing without them.
And
yes, how can I forget some of my South African friends, who have been so
welcoming and accommodating and played significant role in my settling process
in this new world. They made me feel like home. I have been
fortunate to make several exceptionally good friends here in South Africa.
Educational
background
Nobody
is going to forget 2020, but I have one good reason to remember this horrible
year because I got my PhD in Chemistry this year through virtual graduation
ceremony organized by my university. I enrolled for my MSc degree in Chemistry
the year I landed in South Africa.
Before that, I graduated with Pharmacy degree and was a registered
pharmacist in India.
Now
you might be wondering where this food blogs thing came in picture all of
sudden!
Well,
my mother cooks the best food in the world. I know all moms are the best chefs.
But, in my family, great cooking is an ancestral gift and had been an integral
part of our life for many generations. My grandfather (maternal) was a
businessman, but to pursue his passion for cooking he opened a sweet shop in
the city where he would cook, feed family and friends whenever he gets the
opportunity. My brother after completing his BSc degree in
computer sciences decided to follow his footsteps and become a
professional chef after completing his second degree in hotel management. He
worked as a chef in Singapore as well.
Coming
back to me, my passion for cooking was always there in me, however due to my
studies I could not focus much on it. Meanwhile, I loved cooking for my family
whenever I got opportunity to surprise them with my magical meals.
In
South Africa, during my postgraduate studies, I started spending more time in
kitchen, and always looked for easy, hassle-free, yet tasty recipes although
never liked elaborated cooking with endless ingredients and long hours of
making. Concurrently, I looked for healthy recipes, which eventually became
another important aspect of my cooking style.
Now,
when I have completed my PhD degree, I have more time to pursue my long due
passion of preparing delicious food and share it with people who are equally
passionate about cooking and do not shy away from trying new recipes. Moreover,
the outbreak of COVID and my visa-related issues were other factors that have
also played role to make me follow my passion. I would also like to give credit
to one of my close friends who advised me to make it professional by writing these
food blogs.
That’s
how I ventured into this.
I
hope you finding my blogs helpful and interesting. I just want to thank each
one of you. Stay connected with me. If you have any queries or like to say hi,
feel free to do so. I would like to hear from you.
Thank
you!
Neha💛
